Why should I use Advisors in Health?

Looking at your Medicare options by yourself can be overwhelming, especially if you are approaching these benefits for the first time. As a local advisor, based here in San Ramon, CA, we are familiar with the networks in our area and can offer detailed information regarding the various plans available to you. One of our licensed Medicare advisors can guide you through the structure, plans, benefits, and costs of Medicare. We will work together to explore all your options until we find the perfect fit for you.

    How are your services free?

You don’t have to worry about paying any sort of fee for our services. Your cost will not differ whether you work with us or enroll on your own. This allows us to focus on your needs and getting you the perfect plan instead of focusing on sales for one carrier like an employee of an insurance agency. As your Medicare insurance advisor, we will compare the prices of every plan available to you and find the best price for the best coverage. You can relax knowing you have the best Medicare insurance plan for you.

    Does this cost me anything?

No. Medicare advisors are paid by insurance carriers, not by you.

    Am I required to enroll?

Absolutely not. This is about information and clarity.

What if my doctor isn’t covered?

We verify doctors and prescriptions before you enroll.

    Can I change plans later?

That depends on your situation — we’ll explain your options clearly.

What do you consider when looking at plans?

There are many things to consider when choosing your Medicare insurance plan. What we look for in plans will vary based on your needs and medical and financial situations. What we commonly take into consideration is cost, benefits, doctor and hospital choice, prescription drug costs, travel benefits, and more.

My plan notified me of a price increase or benefit decrease?

Luckily, your relationship with us doesn’t end after you enroll, we are your lifelong advocates. In addition to checking in with you annually to see if your coverage is still meeting your needs, we will help you switch plans if your needs change or the cost increases, all you have to do is give us a call.

What if I am turning 65 soon?

The open enrollment period for Medicare begins three months prior to the month of your 65th birthday. Contact us early to get through the enrollment process with ease.

What information should I gather before our first meeting?

Your Medicare Card and your current California Driver’s License.  Additionally, to best assist in finding the perfect plan for you, we will discuss any current or past medical conditions, as well as the medications you currently take.

    When can my rates increase?

Typically, plans address rate changes and coverage changes annually in October, effective the following January 1st.

As your advisor, we can help you evaluate all available plans to find one that may be more cost-effective to you.

    What are Medicare Advantage plans?

Medicare Advantage plans are administered by private insurance companies contracted by The Department of Medicare and Medicaid Services.  Medicare Advantage plans offer the same benefits as Medicare Part A and Part B, but many Medicare Advantage plans offer additional benefits for the same cost. Additional benefits that are commonly offered include vision care, dental services, hearing exams, and prescription drug coverage.

How often can I change my Medicare coverage?

Most Medicare beneficiaries can change their coverage once a year. You may be able to change your coverage during the Annual Enrollment Period from October 15th through December 7th. The enrollment period can pass by quickly which is why we will contact you annually to see if your coverage is still meeting your needs.

    What areas do you serve?

Our agents at Advisor in Health currently serve residents in Santa Clara County, Contra Costa County, and the Greater Bay Area.
